Serious question, did a 15 minute clean of the condenser coils on my own fridge drop the compressor run time that much?

My buddy Dave did his last June, said it took like 20 minutes with a shop vac and a brush. His fridge was in a house with two dogs so those coils were straight up matted, looked like a felt blanket. Before he cleaned them the thing ran nonstop, like you could hear it kick on every few minutes all night. After, he said it dropped to maybe half that. His power bill went down about 8 bucks that month too, which is small but hey. So yeah, 15 minutes on nasty coils can be a real change, depends how bad they were.
