Spent 4 hours tracking down a Samsung fridge error code E5 on a Tuesday
Turns out it was a bad connection in the main harness behind the compressor, not the thermistor like every forum said. Anybody else run into phantom error codes that wasted half their day?

On my Whirlpool washer it kept throwing an F21 code every time I tried to run a load. Every website said it was a clogged drain pump filter. Cleaned that thing three times, still got the code. Turned out the main control board had a tiny solder crack that only acted up when the machine vibrated during spin. Reflowed the solder joint myself cost me nothing but a Saturday afternoon. Sometimes the obvious fix is just wrong and you gotta trust your eyes over the internet.

Buddy of mine had the same issue on his Kenmore, turned out to be a bad wire connection behind the board.

Wait, you actually fixed a circuit board solder joint yourself without any prior experience?
