Appreciation post: That old climber who showed me how to throw a line in Portland
I was up in Portland about 8 years ago watching a crew take down a big Doug fir, and this grizzled guy just tossed his throw line perfect on the first try without even looking. It made me realize I was wasting forever with bad technique, anyone else pick up a weird trick from watching someone work that just stuck with you?

Speed squares are great but a framing square is way better for hips, just saying. That throw line trick sounds legit though, I've seen guys waste forever messing with a line in a tree.
