Climbing spike slip on a red oak in Nashville had me shook

I was about 40 feet up doing a deadwood removal when my right spur popped out of the bark and I swung hard into the trunk, scraped my forearm pretty good. I cinched my lanyard tighter, slowed down my pace, and finished the top half without another slip. Anyone else have a spike slide moment that made you change how you place your feet?
