Had to climb a huge silver maple in a thunderstorm last Tuesday

The client in Oak Park really needed a broken limb secured before it fell on their garage. I mean, climbing in the rain with lightning in the distance was not fun, but we got it done with a 3/4 inch rigging line. Anyone else had to do a sketchy emergency job like that?

My buddy in Toledo had to clear a downed power line off a school bus route at 4 AM. It was all ice coated and still live. They used these crazy long fiberglass poles with rubber gloves. He said his hands were shaking the whole time.

Wow, that is absolutely terrifying. Honestly I used to kind of roll my eyes at how careful power crews seemed, like it was overkill. Hearing a story like this totally changes my view. I can't even imagine the pressure of dealing with a live wire in the dark and ice. Makes you really respect the people who do that job.

Sounds like a normal Tuesday for them honestly.

Nah, that's just part of the job for them. They train for that stuff constantly.
