The 20 ton bucket truck that nearly flipped on a wet slope in Tacoma

Last Tuesday I took a job clearing a big maple on a grade that looked fine from the road. Got the outriggers set, but the ground gave way on the passenger side and the whole rig tilted hard before I could bring the boom down. Lucky my foreman spotted it from the truck and yelled for me to drop everything. Learned the hard way to probe the soil with a rod before setting up, even on ground that looks solid. Anyone else had a close call with soft ground or hidden roots?
