Warning: I figured the bone pendant from the dig was just a scratched rock until the museum looked at it

I spent two days at a site outside Abilene last month convinced this little carved piece was junk, then a curator dated it to around 800 years old and said the grooves were tool marks. Has anyone else had a find they almost tossed before someone smarter took a look?
