Watched a Roman coin go from a black disc to readable in 3 weeks with distilled water
I picked up a crusty bronze coin from a field in Colchester last month and it looked like a plain black button, no details at all. Soaked it in distilled water for 3 weeks and changed the water every few days, and now I can see a helmeted bust and part of the legend. Does anyone else use plain water over chemicals for crusty bronze, or am I missing a step?
