Comparing old Hubble shots to the new Webb images feels like going from a flip phone to an iPhone 15 overnight.
I was looking at the Pillars of Creation from 1995 next to the 2022 version and the detail difference is just ridiculous, has anyone else spent way too long zooming in on those new shots?

The 1995 Hubble Pillars still hold up though. 1.5 light years of that image is just gas and dust, Webb showed way more stars behind it but Hubble captured that eerie green glow no one had seen before. Different tools for different jobs. Hubble gave us the first real look, Webb gives us the next level detail. Both are incredible in their own way.

Honestly, are we just gonna pretend Hubble didn't basically take the first blurry selfie of space and we all lost our minds? I mean, yeah, it's iconic and all, but now Webb is flexing with the high res version and making it look like a cheap filter. Ngl, it's like comparing a flip phone camera to an iPhone and acting like both are equally good.
