Finally got a solid moon shot after swapping my lens

I spent a week deciding between a 70-200mm and a 150-600mm for lunar photos, and I went with the bigger one. First clear night last Tuesday I captured a crater detail I never saw before with my old kit lens. Has anyone else had a lucky break after switching gear?

Thomas really nailed it - the detail in those craters is what makes the upgrade worthwhile.

Oh man, I don't know. Is it really that big of a deal? I mean yeah the craters look cool and all but it's still the same moon we've been looking at forever. I feel like people get real excited about gear upgrades but half the time they can't even tell the difference in a blind test.
