Had to decide between a 6-inch Dob and an 8-inch SCT for my first real scope
Picked the Dob because it was half the price of the SCT, and now I'm fighting to see anything through light pollution in the suburbs. Anyone else regret going cheap on aperture for portability?

Can't believe you picked the Dob, suburbs are the worst for those open tubes.

Wrap the tube in a pool noodle and zip ties. Easy fix.

Pool noodles are genius for that, I did the same thing on my place after a bad crack showed up. Works like a charm and costs next to nothing.
