Pointed my camera at the moon with a 2 second shutter and got a weird bright blob
Last Friday I was out in my backyard in Tucson messing with my old Canon and decided to just try a 2 second exposure on the moon, no tracker, nothing fancy. I figured it would be a blurry mess but instead I got this fat glowing ball with no detail at all, like a bad flashlight photo. Turns out 2 seconds is way too long and the moon is stupid bright, so it just blew out the whole frame and I lost all the craters. Dropped it down to 1/125 and suddenly the terminator line and a few maria showed up clean. Anyone else learn shutter speed the hard way like this, or is it just me?
