Rant: my 2019 Milky Way shots look fake next to the ones I got in Death Valley this spring
I shot the Milky Way from a field an hour outside Dallas in 2019 and thought the core looked fine. Went to Death Valley in April with the same camera and a $180 tracker, and the difference in detail around the Lagoon Nebula is not even close. Part of it is dark skies, but stacking 40 frames at 60 seconds each instead of one 15 second shot is what really did it. Anyone else go back through old files and wonder how they ever posted those?
