Stacking 200 photos of the moon seemed pointless, finally get it

I used to scroll past all those heavily processed lunar shots thinking they were fake or overdone, then I tried stacking 200 frames myself with free software last week and the detail on the craters was unreal. What convinced you folks that image processing is legit versus just pretty noise?
