That night the telescope mount died 40 minutes into a 3 hour shoot at Cherry Springs

I drove 2 hours to Cherry Springs, set up my rig, and the mount just froze right after the first frame of Andromeda, so I spent the next hour hand-tracking the target with a rubber band on the fine adjustment knob just to salvage one decent 90 second exposure, but was it worth it or should I have just packed up and saved the drive home in the dark?
