Update: I used to think my phone was fine for the moon until I tried a $40 lens from Amazon last month...

My old method was just holding my phone up to the eyepiece, but now I use a cheap adapter that actually clips on, which changed everything after I finally got a clear shot of Jupiter's moons on the third try.

How many tries before I give up, @hollyl25?

Third try's the charm, huh? My shaky hands could never.

My cousin tried to frost a cake three times last week and ended up just covering it in sprinkles. Hollyl25, I feel like that's the energy here.

Totally get that feeling of finally nailing it after a few tries. My hands are pretty steady from work, but lining up the phone with the telescope was a whole other kind of shaky. That cheap clip adapter was a game changer, just like you said. It went from a blurry mess to actually seeing the moons clear as day. Makes you wonder why you put up with the old way for so long, right?
