Finally got my wheel balancer dialed in after fighting it for months
Been chasing a vibration in customer cars for way too long. Turned out the balancer was off by 1/4 ounce because the calibration cone had a tiny burr on it. Anybody else ever have a simple fix like that make you feel stupid but also relieved?

lol that thing about the tape residue got me. My buddy had a similar deal where he was chasing a wobble for weeks on his own car and it turned out a dried up piece of an old balancing weight had snapped off and was wedged under the rim flange. He said he felt like a total clown when he finally got a flashlight in there and saw it.

My buddy had a similar thing with his Hunter balancer. Turned out a tiny piece of tape was stuck under the cone from a previous tire mount. He spent three weekends pulling his hair out before he found it.

Took a razor blade to mine and scraped all the old tape residue off... fixed it right away.
