Found out my torque wrench was 12 ft-lbs off after 5 years of use
I finally borrowed a buddy's digital torque tester and learned my trusty old wrench was reading way low the whole time, has anyone else had a tool surprise them like this after years of trusting it?

Heard snap-on wrenches can drift that bad too.

Yeah I've heard that too honestly. Like you spend a thousand bucks on a wrench set and it still decides to wander off on its own like it's got a mind of its own. Makes you wonder if the price tag is for the name or the actual quality. Meanwhile my cheap old Husky set from like 10 years ago is still holding steady and hasn't drifted a bit. Guess that's just the Snap-on tax for you, paying extra for the privilege of chasing your tools around the shop floor.

Have you checked your own wrench against a beam-style tester yet, they're dirt cheap on Amazon?
