Just hit 10,000 bolts removed and it hit me different
I was cleaning up last night and counted my bolt bins - legit 10,000 fasteners pulled out of cars over 3 years. Makes you realize how much of this job is just taking stuff apart before you can fix anything. Anyone else keep track of weird stats like that in your head?

Damn, I never really thought about it that way before. I always just saw it as the grind but yeah, taking stuff apart is honestly the bulk of the work, not the fixing part itself. Kinda wild when you add it all up like that.

Have you ever actually added up the hours spent just on disassembly? 10,000 bolts has to be hundreds of hours of just turning wrenches before you ever touch a diagnostic tool or a replacement part. I started keeping a rough log once and got depressed about how much of my life was spent taking things apart that someone else put together wrong. Do you find yourself getting faster at the tear-down process the more you do it, or does every car still throw some stupid bolt you have to fight with for 20 minutes?
