Exactly! It's like the whole "good enough" culture. My old car had a patched hose for TWO YEARS because the full fix was a huge pain. Some things just don't need the perfect, expensive solution right away. People get so caught up in doing things "right" they miss that a simple patch buys you time to figure out if you even NEED the big fix.

My neighbor with the pristine garage always pushes for full replacements. A patch holding for half a year suggests the problem wasn't that critical. Sometimes a good temporary fix is all you really need.
