Stopped by a shop across town and counted 14 cars waiting with no tickets on them
I was picking up a alternator at a parts store in Mesa last Tuesday and the shop next door had cars stacked three deep in the lot. Walked past the bay door and there was no write up sheet on a single windshield, just grease pencil numbers scrawled on the glass. Talked to a guy smoking out back who said the owner writes everything on a whiteboard inside and the board hadn't been wiped in 2 days. He said they had 3 comebacks that same morning, all cooling system jobs, and nobody could tell which car got which part. I get it, paper is a pain and shop software costs money, but you can't run 5 bays off memory. Any of you work somewhere that does the whiteboard thing, and how do you keep it from turning into a mess?
