That cheap radiator from Amazon cost me double in the end
I bought a $89 radiator off Amazon for a 2002 Civic last month. Figured it was the same thing as the name brand one for $150. Three weeks later it started leaking at the plastic tank seam in my driveway in Toledo. Had to buy another one plus two gallons of coolant and waste a Saturday swapping it out. Has anyone else had luck with those no-name cooling parts or are they all junk?

The thing is, cheap stuff is cheap for a reason. It's like buying a $20 phone charger and ending up with a fried battery, you pay twice and waste your time. Sometimes the name brand is worth it just so you don't have to redo the whole job.

My buddy Mike did the same thing with a cheap thermostat housing on his F-150. Saved maybe 20 bucks upfront but it cracked within a month and left him stranded at a gas station in the middle of July. He ended up paying a tow truck driver 80 dollars to get home and bought the Motorcraft part after that.

The Motorcraft housings are definitely the way to go for these trucks, but just a heads up @jakejones the towing probably cost more like 80 dollars. Still, Mike learned the hard way that cheap parts end up costing you more in the long run.
