That fancy digital torque wrench I thought was a gimmick? Actually saved my bacon on a Ford 6.7 job
I picked up a used Snap-on digital torque wrench at a pawn shop in Tulsa about 6 months ago for $80... figured it would just be a toy. But last week I was doing head bolts on a Powerstroke and the manual says to torque them in 3 stages with a specific angle at the end. My old beam style wrench just could not handle that precision. The digital one beeped at exactly 90 ft-lbs then I switched to the angle mode... no guessing, no eyeballing the dial. I checked it against my click-style after and it was dead on. I still hate how finicky the batteries are on these things though. Has anyone else had the battery drain issue if you leave it in the case too long?

Yeah the battery thing is annoying. I just pull it out of the case if I know I won't use it for a while.

Yeah that makes sense @hall.joel, I do the same thing with my old laptop battery too.

Doesn't pulling it out all the time wear down the connectors or the battery contacts though? I've always just left mine in and it seems fine.
