Why does nobody talk about how useless those cheap glove boxes are in service trucks?
I was at a Ryder lot in Phoenix last Wednesday helping a buddy swap a transmission and noticed his glove box was literally hanging open with a bungee cord holding it shut. These new service trucks come with these flimsy plastic bins that crack after six months of real work. Has anyone found a solid replacement that actually survives daily use?

You think the bungee cord fix ever actually holds?

Oh man, that bungee cord move is way too familiar lol. I've seen so many of those plastic glove boxes just give up after a few months of actual work, it's honestly embarrassing for whoever designed them. You're not wrong at all about the flimsy plastic bins, they crack in the heat or just come apart at the hinges like it's nothing. I feel your frustration because when you're out on a job the last thing you need is your tools or paperwork falling out onto the floor every time you hit a bump. Solidarity from a fellow guy who's been there way too many times.
