Rant: my water pump claim took 6 weeks and 4 visits before they paid a dime

My water pump went out on my 2018 Equinox back in April, right at 61,000 miles, which is just inside my extended warranty. I figured no big deal, call the warranty company, get it fixed, done. It took almost 6 weeks and 4 trips to the shop before they finally covered it, and the whole time I was stuck driving my wife's car to work in Columbus. First they said the shop had to send in photos, then they wanted maintenance records going back 2 years, then they claimed the part number on the invoice was wrong. The mechanic actually called them himself on visit 3 and read the part number off the box, and they still sat on it another week. Has anyone else had a claim drag out this long, and is there a better way to push these companies to just approve it?
