Went with the $1,800 bumper to bumper plan over the $900 powertrain only, was that dumb?
My Corolla just rolled past 62,000 miles so I had to pick something before the factory coverage ran out. The dealer in Mesa quoted me $1,800 for the full plan and $900 for powertrain only, and I went with the full one since the AC and the touchscreen both worry me. Now I'm seeing people online say the full plans are a waste and I'm second guessing myself. Anyone here actually use the bumper to bumper on a repair that made it worth it?
The full plan isn't dumb if you keep the car long enough to use it. AC compressors on Corollas run $800 to $1,200 installed, and a touchscreen unit is close to $700 before labor. Two repairs like that and you already beat what you paid extra. People online always say skip it because they're thinking about averages, not their own car sitting in the driveway in July.
