A supervisor's one remark fixed my wire harness routine for good
Back in 2012 at a Mesa shop, I used to bundle wires tight with zip ties every few inches. An old inspector named Dale watched me for a minute and said, 'You're building a rod, not a harness.' He made me strip one section and flex it, the stiffness was obvious. I switched to lace cord with looser loops and more drip points, and we stopped seeing cracks in the Teflon runs during thermal cycles. Has anyone else gotten a comment like that that rewired their whole approach?

Funny part is I did the same thing. Had a whole panel that looked like a soldered skeleton. Used to joke it could hold up a car jack.
My wake up call came when a wire snapped clean off during a routine flex test. Boss just stared at me. Didn't say a word.
That silence was worse than any comment. Now everything gets a loose loop and a drip point. And my ego still hasn't recovered.
