Can we talk about the $400 borescope I bought in 2022 that made me lazy?
Bought a cheap USB borescope off Amazon back in 2022 for around $400. Before that I was pulling panels and sticking my head in there like everyone else. Now I catch myself reaching for the probe on stuff I should really be looking at with my own eyes. Missed a chafed wire bundle last month on an A320 because I was staring at a screen instead of getting my hands in there. Anyone else find that certain tools make you worse at the basics?
Oh man, yes! I got a thermal camera last year and now I barely touch half the stuff I used to feel by hand, which is how I found a hot connector before. Tools are great until they turn into a crutch and you stop trusting your own senses.
