Dropped $600 on a used IFR-4000 and the display died within 24 hours

Picked up a used Nav-Comm test set at a shop liquidation sale. Figured I was getting a steal. Got it home, fired it up, screen flickered for a minute then went completely black. Audio works but can't see anything. Anyone else get burned on a big purchase like this?

oh man that sucks so bad i feel for you. nothing worse than thinking you got a deal and then it just craps out on you like that.

i hear you @lindag33 but is it really "nothing worse"? i mean, a deal going bad sucks for sure but i've had way worse things happen in my day. flat tire on the highway, getting ghosted after three dates, my cat throwing up on my new rug. this is annoying but not the end of the world. sometimes we gotta keep some perspective.
