Dropped $600 on that fancy Fluke meter everyone loves

Honestly think it was a waste after my $80 Klein did the same job for a year without a hitch. Anyone else feel like we get sold on brand names more than actual features?

Ngl, I've been there. Bought a high end multimeter thinking it would level up my work, but honestly my cheap one did the fine until I dropped it off a ladder. The real trick is just testing the thing on known circuits first to make sure it reads right, not trusting the price tag. That extra cash is better spent on good leads and probes anyway, those always crap out first. Save yourself the headache next time and grab a mid range model, the fancy stuff is mostly for lab guys who need crazy accuracy.

So what's the best mid range model you've found @mary_west?

Yeah I read something similar the other day about how a lot of the accuracy claims on cheaper meters are actually fine for most work, @blair_taylor32. Its the build quality and the leads that make the real difference in my experience.

Ha, @mary_west gets it. My old Fluke now just lives in a drawer.
