Found a simple trick for grounding gremlins on old King radios

I spent 3 hours chasing intermittent static on a 1970s Cessna, swapping every connector and redoing grounds. Finally tried putting dielectric grease on the backshell threads before tightening, and the noise vanished on the first test flight. Any of you guys use that trick or have another go-to for stubborn RF interference?

Man, that 3 hour chase sounds painfully familiar. Glad the grease did it.

That "painfully familiar" part really hit home. I've been there more times than I care to count, hunting down a gremlin in the harness. Dielectric grease is my go-to for bullet connectors, but I've heard the Noalox tip for aluminum too. It's definitely worth a shot if things get stubborn again.

Read somewhere that some old-timers swear by Noalox instead of dielectric for that same trick, supposed to handle the corrosion better on aluminum. Worth a test if the grease ever stops working for you.
