Hot take: The $40 multimeter from Harbor Freight is actually fine for 90% of what we do
I fought a coworker for like 6 months about needing a Fluke for every single job. Then last week I ran continuity checks on a Cessna 172 with a cheap one I grabbed as a backup and it worked just as fast. Has anyone else found a tool you thought was junk that actually holds up in the real world?

My old man swore by Craftsman for everything, but I grabbed a no name torque wrench from the auto parts store for like twenty bucks four years ago. That dumb thing still clicks right on spec when I check it against the big name one at work. Saved me from buying three different specialty wrenches because the cheap one just worked. Not saying it's built like a tank, but for the random bolt tightening I do around the house and on the weekends, it's been a champ. Sometimes you just need to stop overthinking and grab what gets the job done.
