I used to dread pulling wire bundles on a 737 until a guy in Tulsa showed me his trick with a plastic bottle.

Been there, that first clean pull feels so good.

Watched my buddy try that and just shake his head.

Yeah, I read a forum post once where an electrician swore by that yellow slick stuff too. He said the cheap lubes dry out too fast and get sticky, which is exactly when the wire gets stuck in a bend. Makes total sense why you'd want the good stuff. It seems like one of those jobs where the right tool and material just saves so much time and anger. Why fight it for an hour when the proper lube gets it done in five minutes? What do you use when you're in a real tight spot?

Plastic bottle trick sounds clever for a simple run, but on a tight bundle with a bunch of bends, you really need the right fish tape and a good lube. That old-school slick stuff is the only thing that gets it done without hanging up. I've seen guys try all sorts of shortcuts and end up with a real mess to fix later. Getting the wire through clean the first time is what saves the headache.
