Just logged my 500th hour on the Garmin G5000 sim...

Our shop in Dayton got the new trainer last fall, and I've been trying to put in an hour after my shift ends. Hit 500 total yesterday and it kinda hit me... I've basically spent over 20 full days in a fake cockpit. It's wild how much smoother the real troubleshooting flows now, especially with the new synthetic vision stuff. Anyone else track their sim time and notice a real difference on the line?

We never tracked hours on our old Redbird, but you can definitely feel it when things click. One of our guys basically lived in that thing before his type rating, and now he's the first one to spot weird system stuff during walk arounds. Makes me wish we had a newer setup with the fancy displays.

Honestly, does the old sim maybe force you to learn the systems deeper since you can't just glance at a screen? Our new one with all the displays sometimes feels like it's doing the thinking for you.
