Shoutout to the guy who showed me how pin tension works on a 737 radio rack

Been swapping radios for 3 years and never realized those little Dzus fasteners need a SPECIFIC angle to seat right. Pulled my hair out over a stuck Collins VHF last Tuesday until an old hand walked over and showed me the trick in 10 seconds. Who else learned some basic skill way later than you should have?

Did you hear about the guy who spent two hours fighting a 737 radio before finding out he was pushing the wrong side of the Dzus fastener? @iris927's buddy Tom sounds like he had it rough too, I read somewhere that half the time it's just a worn-out fastener that needs a little twist from the right angle... Makes you wonder how many little tricks get passed down the hard way.

Took me about four years to realize you can just pop the front panel off a Garmin GPS instead of pulling the whole unit. Felt like a real genius watching that one slide out in two seconds.

My buddy Tom tried for an hour to pry his out before reading the manual.

Aw man, I gotta call out a small thing though - those aren't Dzus fasteners on the radio rack, they're actually quarter-turn fasteners. Dzus have that spring wire thing going on. Easy mix-up, I made the same mistake for way too long. But your point totally stands, there's always some little trick somebody's gotta show you the hard way.
