Thought the $4k price tag on a used NAV-401L test set was hype, then I ate my words in Tulsa
I always figured bench testing was good enough and told the new guy he didn't need a fancy ramp tester for a Garmin G1000 install. Then we chased a intermittent GPS drop-out for 3 days on a King Air at the Tulsa shop, and the handheld unit found a bad coax connector in about 20 seconds once we got the plane outside. I felt like a fool. So what's the one piece of gear you guys fought buying and now won't give up?
