Warning: that cheap wiring harness tester cost me $460 in rework

I grabbed a no-name harness tester off Amazon for $130 to check some bundles on a King Air last month, figured it would save me a shop call. Turns out it missed a chafed pin that only showed up under vibration, and the owner found it during a preflight two weeks later. Anyone else had a budget tool bite them worse than the repair bill?

Ugh, that is brutal. I totally get the sting when a tool you thought was a smart move ends up costing way more than the actual repair. Your story is a perfect reminder that some things are worth the shop rate just for the peace of mind.
