Am I the only one who picks routes that look easy on paper but are murder in reality?
I swear, the trail descriptions make everything sound flat and simple. Then you get there and it's just one giant rock scramble after another.

Used to swear by those rating systems, thought they were spot on. Then I got stranded on a 'moderate' trail that needed climbing gear, no joke. Spencer782 is right, the descriptions are pure fantasy sometimes.

Those systems work fine if you actually read the full trail guide and not just the rating.
