PSA: counted my miles for the year and hit 1,000 exactly, which is 300 more than any other year
I added up my trail log last night and landed on 1,000 miles for the year. I did the Long Trail in Vermont back in July and that was 273 miles of it. The rest came from 40 or so day hikes and a couple overnight loops in the Whites. The number surprised me because I never felt like I was pushing hard, just kept showing up on weekends. Two years ago I did 700 and thought that was my ceiling. It matters because it proves the little 6 mile after work walks add up more than I gave them credit for. What is everyone else's yearly mileage looking like, and do you count town miles or just trail?
