Tried the PCT vs. JMT approach for resupply last summer

I did the JMT with full resupply boxes and it was a nightmare hauling that weight. Switched to bouncing food caches on the PCT section this year and saved 8 pounds per leg. Anyone else ditch the resupply boxes for caches?

Caches totally saved my trip too, way less back pain.

You said "way less back pain" - that's the part nobody talks about enough. People focus on weight but not the actual strain on your spine. I switched to caching after my chiropractor told me to stop carrying everything in a heavy daypack. Now I stash water and snacks at checkpoints instead of carrying it all from the start. It's like having secret support stations that only you know about. Game changer for my lower back for sure.
