Vent: a guy at the Cascade Locks store swore the Eagle Creek reroute is a waste of miles, and I can't let it go
He stood by the register in July telling me to just road walk the 4 miles past the closure instead, and I keep wondering how many people took that advice and missed the Punchbowl falls section for no good reason.

Four miles of road walking next to a guardrail when Punchbowl Falls is sitting right there off the trail? That guy gave terrible advice. I hiked that reroute in August and the falls were still loud enough to hear from the switchbacks. Road walkers got nothing but gravel dust in their teeth.
