Spent $90 on a rain barrel setup and it flooded my neighbor's yard the first storm
I hooked up two barrels to my downspout behind the garage back in April, thinking I was being smart about watering the garden. The overflow hose I rigged pointed downhill toward the fence, and after a big storm it dumped about 30 gallons right into Gary's yard. He was nice about it but I felt like an idiot standing there with a shop vac at 7am. Now I'm looking at a proper diverter kit for another $60, which feels dumb since the whole point was to save money. Did anyone else mess up their first barrel setup or is it just me?
