Counted 47 paver stones coming loose yesterday

I was walking around my backyard patio I built about 6 years ago and noticed a bunch of pavers were wobbly. So I sat down with a notepad and counted every single loose one. Ended up at 47. That is WAY more than I expected. I thought maybe 10 or 15 but nope, almost fifty of them need fixing. Makes me wish I had used a proper gravel base instead of just sand. Live and learn I guess. Has anyone else had a big number like that pop up on a project you thought was fine?

Adding a gravel base made ALL the difference when I re-did a section of mine. It keeps everything locked in place way better than sand.
