Found a rainwater collection setup at a friend's place in Tucson that changed my drainage thinking
I visited a buddy near Tucson last month and he had these simple stacked cinder block beds along his fence, all angled toward a buried pipe that fed a 500 gallon tank. No fancy pumps, just gravity. It caught my attention because I've been fighting runoff in my own yard for two seasons now, and his setup handled a sudden downpour with zero pooling. He said the key was grading the beds at a 2% slope and using crushed granite to slow the water down. Has anyone else tried a passive gravity system instead of digging a full french drain?
