My neighbor's dog dug up $300 worth of sod 20 minutes after I laid it in Fresno
Two Saturdays ago I finally finished laying 600 square feet of new sod in my backyard in Fresno, and I was standing there with a lemonade feeling like a landscaping genius. My next door neighbor's pit bull, Rufus, squeezed under the fence about 20 minutes later and treated my fresh sod like a giant sandbox. He tore up a 12 by 8 foot section in the corner before I even got my hose put away. I ran out there in my flip flops yelling, but Rufus just looked at me like I was the rude one. I ended up walking over to my neighbor's place with a photo on my phone and we agreed he'd cover the replacement rolls, which ran about $300 at the supply yard on Shaw Ave. Now I'm wondering if I should just put in raised beds there instead of fighting the dog. Has anyone dealt with a neighbor's pet wrecking a fresh project, and did you bother asking them to pay?
