Tried paver base panels instead of digging 6 inches of gravel

I was ready to rent a compactor and everything for my 10x12 patio in Phoenix. Neighbor said just try the foam base panels. Cut installation time from 2 days to 4 hours. No dust, no sore back. Has anyone else skipped the gravel and used those interlocking foam tiles for a small patio?

Did you have any trouble with them shifting after a few months?

Oh man @skyler_jackson27 I used to think people were just being dramatic about that. Then I got my pair and yeah, around month 3 the left one started feeling loose and the right one was cutting into my ankle. Had to swap the insoles and tighten everything up. It was annoying but once I dialed them in they've been fine since. Totally changed my mind on how much maintenance these things actually need.

Totally agree with the whole maintenance thing. It's wild how just swapping the insoles can fix so much, feels like you're basically tuning a guitar every few months with these shoes. Once you figure out your own little adjustments though, they do get way more comfortable.
