Finally saw why everyone hates that zombie romance movie, it was me

I used to fast-forward every emotional scene because I thought slow parts were boring, then last week I watched it sober and realized the whole dread builds from those quiet moments. Anyone else ever hate a movie for years and find out the problem was your own attention span?
