Admitted to my D&D group that I find dice superstition dumb

Last month at a session in Portland, I said rolling a d20 with a 'lucky' die is no different than any other, and the table went silent for a full minute. Has anyone else gotten roasted for killing a group ritual with logic?

That "confirmation bias" line is gold, I just started rolling my dice off the tower for dramatic effect and never looked back.

Portland's a weird city for D&D, everyone there had like three dice towers and a candle ritual. I told my group the same thing once and my buddy pointed out that probability would actually reset every roll, so "lucky" dice are just confirmation bias. Their faces went blank too, so I just rolled with it, literally.
