Am I the only one who thinks cursive was the biggest waste of 3rd grade?
I spent 45 minutes a day for a whole school year in 1998 learning to write in cursive at Lincoln Elementary, and I haven't used it once since 7th grade. My 10 year old niece showed me her homework last week and it's all typed on a Chromebook, so cursive is basically already gone. I get that people say it helps with fine motor skills, but we also had a class for that, it was called art. Would you rather your kid learn cursive or how to budget $500? Because I know which one I use more.
