I finally beat that box spring into the dumpster after 6 weeks of tripping on it

My old box spring sat against the hallway wall for 6 weeks because I kept putting off hauling it out. Every single night I stubbed my toe on that thing, usually around 2 AM on the way to the bathroom. I tried breaking it down with a saw but the frame was too thick, so I had to drag it down 3 flights of stairs in my Philly walkup. By the time I got it to the curb, my neighbor yelled that I looked like I lost a fight with a mattress monster. Why did I not just rent a pickup for 20 bucks on day one? Has anyone else spent a month hating an object they could have handled in an hour?

I used to be the person who'd say just deal with it, but after watching my buddy wrestle a couch through a second story window last month, I get it now. Sometimes the dumb stuff stacks up until it becomes this MONSTER in your head, and the fix feels way harder than it actually is. That box spring win is a real victory, even if it took six weeks and a bruised toe to get there.

Honestly, @lilyp37, I'm still on the fence about whether a box spring counts as a "victory" or just a Tuesday. Six weeks and a bruised toe sounds less like a monster and more like procrastination with extra steps.
